King Abdul Aziz University represented by the Deanship of E-learning and Distance Education provides a digital repository for educational elements (Blackboard Open Content). Faculty members participation enriches the storage and promotes the open educational resource initiative. The digital repository provides faculty members with several advantages including:
 
  • Finding and creating educational objects.
  • Helps in building curriculums in the Blackboard system.
  • Ease of access to various learning resources.
  • Ease of sharing personal content of a faculty member with other users and institutes.
  • Licensing educational resources using the Creative Commons license, to preserve the rights of their authors.
